David Khudatyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, met with Farzaneh Sadeghi, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his working visit to Iran.
Also present at the meeting were Kristine Galichyan, Deputy Minister coordinating the road construction sector, and Arkadi Chertchinyan, Executive Director of the Road Department Foundation.
Minister Khudatyan positively highlighted the progress in the construction of the Kajaran–Agarak road segment, noting that Iran's significant involvement in Armenia's infrastructure projects indicates the strong economic cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries.
In addition to road construction, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of transport and aviation and agreed to take necessary steps to increase the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries.
Special attention was given to the initiative to construct a second bridge over the Araks River at the Armenia–Iran state border. It was noted that the implementation of the project would significantly enhance bilateral transport capacity and provide a new impetus for the development of economic ties.
Other mutually interesting issues were also discussed during the meeting.
