Armenia Marriott Hotel Reports Results of Food Testing Following Embassy Incident

YEREVAN, July 25. /ARKA/. Armenia Marriott Hotel announced that it has received the results of laboratory tests of food samples sent for inspection following cases of intestinal infection among participants of a reception at the French embassy in Armenia.

"We have received the results of the laboratory tests - they are clean, no pathogenic microorganisms were detected," the hotel told the ARKA agency.

Previously, Armenia Marriott Hotel, in response to a request from the ARKA agency, announced the start of an internal investigation after it became known about cases of acute intestinal infections among participants of a reception organized by the French embassy on July 14 in honor of Bastille Day. Samples of food prepared in the hotel kitchen were sent for laboratory testing.

According to the Armenian Food Safety Inspection Authority, 10 people sought medical assistance. The agency also reported its intention to conduct an inspection at Armenia Marriott.

However, the results of laboratory tests do not in themselves establish the source of the illness. The results of the inspection will be published after its completion.
