The Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan visited the Ararat Cement plant on July 23 to familiarize himself with the organization of the production process. The visit was also attended by Ararat Governor Sedrak Tevonyan, Deputy Minister Edgar Zakaryan, and the head of the Ararat community Aslan Avetisyan.

The minister toured the plant, getting acquainted with the production process, existing capacities, and the progress of work. The plant employs about 1,000 people, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons.
During the visit, Gevorg Papoyan noted that the Ararat Cement plant has been handed over to the management of the Ministry of Economy, and the ministry will take all necessary steps to ensure the plant operates at full capacity, uninterruptedly and efficiently.

The minister stated that a temporary manager for the company will be appointed in July according to the established procedure.
“Until then, I urge all employees to perform their duties diligently and responsibly. The plant must not cease operations; on the contrary, it is necessary to ensure the normal course of production and increase work efficiency,” the minister emphasized.

During the visit, the minister also learned about the challenges facing the plant and instructed to study them comprehensively to take necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted production.
