In the US, aviation fuel consumption reached a historical maximum during the week ending July 17, 2025, according to data published by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Demand increased by 386 thousand barrels per day, reaching 2.15 million barrels per day (b/d). This figure surpassed the previous record of approximately 2.11 million barrels per day, which was recorded in December 2017, according to EIA data.
