YEREVAN, July 28. Ameriabank's retail business deposit portfolio exceeded 1.03 trillion drams for the first time as of June 30, 2026, reported Arman Barseghyan, the bank's director of retail banking:
"In particular, the portfolio of term deposits has grown by 19% since the beginning of the year and amounted to 423 billion drams. The portfolio of demand deposits increased by 18%, reaching 446 billion drams," Barseghyan said at a press conference:
According to him, the highest growth rates are recorded for demand deposits and deposits in drams. Barseghyan linked the growth of dram deposits to the strengthening of the national currency, as well as noting that clients consider keeping funds in drams more advantageous:
He also described the de-dollarization of the economy as a positive trend:
