Protests at Gagik Tsarukyan's Enterprises

Employees demand the resumption of work

In Armenia, protests are taking place at the enterprises of Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party, which have been closed by the decision of the investigative authority. Employees are demanding the resumption of work and access to their workplaces.

According to Arman Piroyan, the director of the Multi Wellness fitness center, the situation is complicated by the fact that all the halls inside the center are operational, while employees are inactive. "There is a very dangerous situation inside, the pools are operational, the heating is on, this is a problem. Even after reopening, we do not know how to get out of this situation," Piroyan said, adding that he has filed a complaint with the Investigative Committee but has not yet received a response.

A similar protest is taking place in the yard of the "Euromotors" car dealership. In a conversation with a journalist from Kentron TV, the director of the Armenian branch of the company, Abraham Danagezyan, noted that international branches of the company in Abu Dhabi have joined in solidarity with Tsarukyan's family.

Recall that on July 6, law enforcement officers conducted searches at the home of party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, as well as at more than 70 addresses, including companies belonging to the Multi Group conglomerate. After the investigative actions, Tsarukyan was detained and taken to the Investigative Committee of Armenia. He has been charged with alleged fraud and money laundering in particularly large amounts.

On the same day, Tsarukyan was sentenced to two months in prison. Tsarukyan denies the charges, stating that what is happening is politically motivated pressure from the ruling authorities.

In the parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026, the party "Prosperous Armenia" led by Gagik Tsarukyan received 3.993% of the votes.
