YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. The club 'Unisport', established with the financial support of Unibank, will host matches of the preliminary round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League 2026/27 in Yerevan on August 26, 27, and 29. This was reported by the bank's press service.
The current champion and holder of the Armenian Cup will compete for a place in the main round of the tournament. Its opponents will be five-time German champion 'Weilimdorf', Estonian champion 'Tallinn', and Iceland's representative 'Reykjavik'.
Unisport approaches the tournament with impressive results. In the Armenian Premier League, the team had an undefeated season, winning 16 matches and scoring 323 goals.
“Representing Armenia in the Champions League is a great responsibility for us. We have assembled an ambitious team that has already proven its strength in the national championship. Now our goal is to perform confidently on the international stage and secure a spot in the main round. It is especially important for us that the matches will take place in Yerevan: we are counting on the support of our fans, which will give the team additional strength. We thank Unibank for their trust and continuous support of the club,” said Unisport director David Khachatryan.
Collaboration with Unisport is part of Unibank's initiatives aimed at developing sports in Armenia. The bank aims to create conditions for the professional growth of athletes, promote futsal, and support Unisport's new achievements on the international stage.
The matches of Unisport in the preliminary round of the Champions League will be broadcast on the First Channel of Armenia.
