The Food Safety Inspectorate has suspended the operations of a fruit and vegetable canning facility owned by Vil Food LLC. The plant is located at 71 Fidaineri Street in Hrazdan, Kotayk Province.
According to the agency’s press service, an inspection found that the facility had breached the requirements of the Customs Union’s technical regulations. The inspectorate said the violations concerned conditions needed for safe food production.
Specifically, the number, capacity, design and operation of the natural and mechanical ventilation systems were found insufficient to prevent food contamination. In addition, the surfaces of the production building’s walls were not made of waterproof and washable materials.
The inspectorate also said the ceiling was not in a condition that would prevent the accumulation of dirt, the formation of mold, and the possible falling of particles from above.
By decision of the head of the inspectorate, the facility’s production activities have been suspended until the identified violations are eliminated, the statement said.
