Unibank and FC Alashkert, a four-time champion of Armenia, have expanded their cooperation, with the bank becoming the club’s title sponsor. The announcement was made by the bank’s press service.
According to the statement, the partnership is aimed at supporting the club’s further development and creating the conditions needed for new achievements both in domestic competition and on the international stage.
Unibank said support for sport is one of the key areas of its corporate social responsibility programme. For many years, the bank has backed the development of professional sport in Armenia through a broad sponsorship programme covering football, futsal, wrestling and cycling.
The bank said it places particular importance on initiatives that not only help Armenian athletes achieve strong results, but also promote sport and a healthy lifestyle among young people.
According to the statement, cooperation between Unibank and FC Alashkert is built around a shared commitment to development, constant progress and high performance. Over its 15-year history, the club has won the Armenian championship four times, the Armenian Cup once and the Armenian Supercup three times.
Alashkert also became the first Armenian club to play in the group stage of a European club competition.
The bank is regulated by the Central Bank of Armenia.
