The initiative aims to help children and families affected by war and forced displacement. Funds raised will be used to organize leisure and development programs for camp participants, provide professional psychological support, and expand the program.
As the main sponsor, Unibank is backing the initiative both in Armenia and in other countries. Global Run teams have been formed in many cities, including Barcelona, Brussels, Los Angeles, London, New York, Nice, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto, Zurich and others.
AGBU Global Run in support of Camp Nairi will start on September 13 in Yerevan with a 5 km race in the Hrazdan Gorge, after which another 21 cities around the world will take over the relay.
The bank said its partnership with AGBU and support for Camp Nairi reflect Unibank’s belief that caring for children’s well-being and creating opportunities for their development can improve their lives and help build a more secure future.
Unibank noted that for 25 years it has combined the role of a financial institution with a responsible approach to society. Support for socially significant initiatives has long been an important part of the bank’s work, with particular focus on education, youth development and sports projects.
By supporting Camp Nairi, Unibank says it is helping more children overcome hardship, discover new opportunities, and look to the future with greater confidence and hope.
