Sources indicate that the company aims to ramp up production capacity for the IRON robots to over 1,000 units per month by the end of 2026:
Starting in the first quarter of 2027, these robots will begin working as sales consultants in Xpeng's showrooms in China, and later in the same year, in the company's overseas showrooms:
In April, the company's president, Brian Gu, stated that the humanoid robots would initially work as administrative assistants or sales consultants:
He noted that over the next 10-20 years, the areas of application for these robots would significantly expand, and this business could even surpass the scale of Xpeng's automotive business:
The IRON robots were unveiled last November. At that time, it was reported that they would operate on Xpeng's proprietary chips, be equipped with solid-state batteries, and the company plans to offer customization options for individual product components, including choices for body shape and hairstyle:
