VTB Armenia Bank Sponsors Armenian Edition of "The Three Musketeers"

The new edition was presented at the Newmag Summerfest 2026 book festival

With financial support from VTB Armenia Bank, Newmag Publishing has presented a new Armenian edition of Alexandre Dumas' "The Three Musketeers." The book launch took place at the Newmag Summerfest 2026 book festival.

The unique feature of this edition is that the novel has been translated into Armenian for the first time directly from the original French text. This has allowed for the preservation of the author's stylistic nuances, the artistic uniqueness of the work, and its ideological integrity, presenting the novel to Armenian readers as closely as possible to the original.

“By supporting initiatives aimed at the development of culture, education, and reading, the Bank continues to contribute to the implementation of programs that promote the preservation and popularization of world literary heritage among Armenian readers,” said the General Director - Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Armenia Ara Avagyan.

“Dumas' style is characterized by its expressiveness, vivid artistic imagery, and subtle humor. During the new translation, our main goal was to preserve these features so that Armenian readers could experience and perceive the novel as it was intended by the author. We thank VTB Armenia Bank for its support of this important project and its valuable contribution to publishing the best works of world literature in the native language,” noted the director of Newmag Publishing Artak Aleksanyan.

The new Armenian edition of "The Three Musketeers" will soon be available in all well-known bookstores across the republic.

 Note.

In the French original of the novel, d'Artagnan compares himself to the “Armenian Don Japhet” (don Japhet l’Arménien), who is known in French literature as a boastful and self-congratulatory character. This literary note, which is absent in the Russian translation of the novel, was revealed through the research work of translator Samvel Gasparyan.

VTB Armenia Bank is regulated by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
