Against the backdrop of stable railway transportation of Russian grain to Armenia, Russia may halt automobile transportation from Krasnodar region to Armenia via Upper Lars. This is stated in the report of the Investment Center of the Eurasian Transport Corridor (TRRC) of Georgia, local media report.
Georgian experts believe that Russia's strategy involves redirecting certain cargo flows to the railway, an example of which is the shipment of Armenian goods, mainly grains, through Azerbaijan.
“Moscow is thus trying to reduce the congestion at the strategically important Upper Lars border point,” the TRRC noted.
