As of July, Georgia's public debt is estimated at $9.016 billion, which is an increase of $27.2 million from June's figure.
The government's direct debt amounts to $8.752 billion, of which $6.73 billion is attributed to multilateral loans, while another $1.527 billion is from bilateral loans. At the same time, the external obligations of the National Bank of Georgia are estimated at $263.819 million.
The largest creditors of the Georgian government include the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the European Investment Bank:
- Asian Development Bank — $2.469 billion,
- World Bank, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development — $1.896 billion,
- European Investment Bank — $1.185 billion,
- World Bank, International Development Association — $353 million,
- Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank — $240.2 million,
- European Bank for Reconstruction and Development — $217.4 million.
Regarding Georgia's government debt to other countries, the leading creditors are France — $845.1 million, Germany — $559.5 million, and Japan — $103.9 million.
