Viva Launched Armenia's First and Only 5G+ Network

The 5G+ network will also be available in rural communities

Viva has announced the launch of Armenia's first and only 5G+ network in Yerevan and in the cities of Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn. In the next phase of the project, Viva will continue expanding its 5G+ network, ensuring its availability in all cities across Armenia by the end of the year.

The key advantage of 5G+ over previous generations of mobile technology includes higher speeds, lower latency, and the ability to connect significantly more devices simultaneously within a single network. The 5G+ network provides the infrastructure required to support a new generation of digital services.

Viva's acquisition of the largest radio spectrum resources in Armenia's history has created the foundation for the deployment of a standalone 5G+ network.

The deployment of the 5G+ network in Yerevan was carried out with support from Nokia, while the rollout across the towns of Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn was implemented with Ericsson's technological solutions.

“We expect the positive impact of 5G+ deployment to be reflected both in the enhanced quality of services delivered to individual subscribers and in the digital transformation of various sectors of the economy,” said Armen Avetisian, the General Director of Viva.
