YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Veolia Jur has announced large-scale reconstruction works on water supply systems in the communities of Arevshat and Landzhazat in Ararat Province as part of a mandatory capital works program. The total investment amounts to 184 million drams.
According to the company's statement, 154.5 million drams of this amount is allocated for Arevshat. Here, the main water supply pipeline that provides water to the community is being reconstructed, along with emergency sections of the distribution network.
The existing main water pipeline was built back in 1937 and currently does not meet operational requirements, leading to frequent emergencies and significant water losses. This pipeline also supplies 14 settlements in the enlarged Artashat community. As part of the project, about 5 km of water pipeline is being constructed for 95 subscribers.
In Landzhazat, a project worth 29.5 million drams is being implemented to replace the worn-out cast iron pipeline that has been in use since Soviet times. According to Veolia Jur, the existing pipeline runs entirely through private properties, which has significantly complicated the operation of the system and the conduct of emergency restoration works for many years.
The old pipeline will be replaced with a new pipeline that will be laid along the road, ensuring safer operation and uninterrupted service of the system. Simultaneously, emergency sections of the distribution network are being reconstructed in Landzhazat. The company notes that after the completion of the works, the efficiency of the water supply system will increase, water losses will decrease, and residents of the communities will receive more reliable and stable water supply.
