Ucom and the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) have presented joint projects aimed at addressing environmental challenges through technology. The company says connectivity and digital tools can play a practical role in protecting nature.
With the telecom operator’s support, remote monitoring systems, thermal imaging cameras, autonomous solar-powered solutions and artificial intelligence technologies are being deployed. These tools are used in protected areas and in wildlife monitoring efforts.
The partnership between Ucom and FPWC has been in place for years. During that time, the sides have launched and continued initiatives in reforestation and tree planting, wildlife monitoring, and reducing conflicts between people and wildlife.
The partners also highlighted the use of technological solutions in protected areas. The goal is to improve monitoring efficiency and support more sustainable management of environmental programs in Armenia.
Ucom is also pursuing green initiatives in education and innovation. The company has launched the GreenGo and GreenPlus tariff packages, with part of the proceeds from activations directed to environmental programs, while Ucom adds extra support from its side.
