Turkey's defense and aviation industry exports increased by 47.1% over the past year (from June 2025 to May 2026), reaching a record $10.9 billion, according to ermenihaber.am.
Turkish weapons have been exported to 178 countries worldwide. The lion's share of the exports, $6.2 billion (57.3%), went to NATO member states, which also topped the list of countries with the highest purchases.
Notably, the export of defense industry products is more profitable for Turkey than the export of products from other sectors. While the average value per kg of other exported goods is $1.62, in the defense sector it is 40 times higher at $65.16.
It is noted that Turkey has transformed from a mere supplier for its NATO partners into a leading player developing technologies and conducting joint production.
