Turk-Internet.com says Firebird and TRIPP could reshape the South Caucasus digital map

The Turkish outlet says Armenia’s AI infrastructure could break out of geographic isolation.

Turkish outlet Turk-Internet.com says Armenia’s Firebird project, combined with TRIPP — “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” — could alter not only the transport map of the South Caucasus but its digital landscape as well.

According to the publication, Armenia was until recently barely seen as a serious rival to Turkey in the data center industry, but that assessment may now be shifting. It describes Armenia as a potentially strong competitor, arguing that its main advantage is not cheap land or electricity, but backing from the United States.

The article says Nvidia chips have become part of peace diplomacy, and that Armenia’s artificial intelligence strategy has gained something Turkey does not automatically have: privileged political access to the US ecosystem for AI hardware. Turk-Internet.com argues that this difference could prove highly significant.

The outlet also notes that Firebird is beginning to attract its first international clients. Among the early names mentioned is Perplexity, which plans to use Armenia’s computing infrastructure for its answer engine and AI agents platform.

In the publication’s view, the project matters for more than the fact that “Armenia acquired Nvidia GPUs.” More important, it argues, is the emergence in Armenia of a US-linked AI infrastructure ecosystem.

The article also points to the possible normalization of Armenia’s relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. Turk-Internet.com says that development could be even more transformative for Armenia, because the country’s growing AI infrastructure would not necessarily remain geographically isolated.

Over time, the publication says, that combination could turn Armenia into a location hosting Nvidia GPUs, connected eastward through Azerbaijan and Central Asia, and westward through Turkey and onward to Europe. In that scenario, data centers could help Armenia break out of isolation.

At the same time, Turk-Internet.com says Turkey would then occupy two positions at once: a competitor to Armenia for AI investment and a transit country through which Armenian AI traffic could flow to Europe.
