The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, met on August 7 with representatives of the World Bank and the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia. Also present at the meeting was Lusine Gevorgyan, the head of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.
According to Armenpress, the meeting discussed the progress of the Tourism and Regional Infrastructure Improvement Program (TRIP), as well as issues related to improving its implementation mechanisms, streamlining processes, and accelerating actions.
Emphasizing the program's role in the development of tourism and modernization of regional infrastructure, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation to ensure the effective implementation of planned activities.
The TRIP program envisions an investment of 120 million euros for the development of tourism clusters in Goris, Areni, Jermuk, Yeghegis, Dvin, Gyumri, and Dilijan. The program aims to promote the development of wine, health resort, adventure, cultural, educational, and eco-tourism, enhancing Armenia's attractiveness as a tourist destination and the competitiveness of its regions.
