US President Donald Trump has admitted that gasoline and energy prices will rise due to military actions against Iran. Currently, the price of a gallon of gasoline in the US is $4.1, while a year ago it was $3.1.
Trump indicated that Americans should not expect a quick drop in fuel prices, as the ongoing military operations against Iran will keep gasoline prices elevated for some time.
In an interview on WABC radio, the White House leader stated that he is satisfied with the course of the conflict, emphasizing that “everything is going very well, but the press doesn’t like to talk about it.”
He added that citizens understand the logic behind the government's actions, as the main goal is to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
“But I think the people see what we are doing, because Iran should never have nuclear weapons. It’s very simple,” he said.
The American leader also addressed the economic consequences, acknowledging that the current situation directly affects the financial condition of ordinary consumers.
“I think the people see this, appreciate it, and respect it. And I tell them that energy prices will be somewhat higher, and the price of gasoline will also be a bit higher than before,” Trump explained.
At the same time, he expressed confidence that the US armed forces are controlling the critical transportation route — the Strait of Hormuz, which he called a significant factor.
Statistical data confirms the president's statements regarding the rise in expenses. According to the American Automobile Association, the average price of a gallon (3.79 liters) of gasoline in the US currently stands at $4.1. For comparison, a year ago this figure was $3.1.
