US President Donald Trump today stated that Republicans should include the issue of Iran in the sanctions legislation against Russia.
A bill to tighten sanctions against Russia has been presented to the US Senate, which was previously promoted by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. After his death, the initiative was introduced to the upper chamber of Congress by Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.
The bill proposes sanctions against the highest political and military leadership of Russia, including Vladimir Putin, Russian banks, including the Central Bank of Russia, Sberbank, VTB, and Gazprombank, as well as enterprises in the defense, energy, and transportation sectors.
The project also proposes to extend restrictions to ships transporting Russian oil, gas, coal, uranium, and other sanctioned goods, as well as to foreign citizens and companies that supply goods to the Russian military-industrial complex.
