The latest operational report from the Statistical Committee of Armenia for July 2026 indicates that the line for agriculture was left blank, while all other lines were filled. During that time, MP Harutyun Mnatsakanyan from the 'Strong Armenia' faction stated that the decline in agriculture was 15% and urged the authorities to reopen the Ministry of Agriculture.
Notably, according to data published in June, the decline in agriculture was 11.6%, and it was expected to deepen in July as well. Mnatsakanyan emphasized that his statistical data was taken from official sources. He pointed out that if his statement were incorrect, then the MPs from the ruling party would have been wrong at least 500 times.
Mnatsakanyan also addressed export directions, noting that exports mainly go to Ukraine and Georgia, and that state subsidies partially mitigate the decline, but not to the extent necessary. He stressed that the government is obliged to continue subsidizing, otherwise the entire harvest could spoil.
