Top U.S. business and tech leaders to attend Trump-Xi state dinner

The White House released a guest list of more than 100 people, dominated by officials and corporate executives.

The White House has released the guest list for the state dinner honoring U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, with more than 100 people set to attend. The list is dominated by U.S. government officials, business leaders and their spouses.

On the Chinese side, the delegation is made up primarily of government officials accompanying Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyuan. CNBC noted that Chinese business leaders had earlier been expected to attend, but no Chinese companies appear on the published list.

U.S. tech is heavily represented. Invitees include Apple's Tim Cook, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI's Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, AMD's Lisa Su, Microsoft's Satya Nadella, Google's Sundar Pichai, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Zoom's Eric Yuan and Qualcomm's Cristiano Amon. Elon Musk is also on the list. Anthropic, however, is not included.

Beyond technology, the dinner will also bring together major names from finance and industry. Among them are Goldman Sachs' David Solomon, BlackRock's Larry Fink, Blackstone's Stephen Schwarzman, Citi's Jane Fraser, JP Morgan's Jamie Dimon, Visa's Ryan McInerey, Mastercard's Michael Miebach, Boeing's Kelly Ortberg, General Motors' Mary Barra, ExxonMobil's Darren Woods and Pfizer's Albert Bourla.

According to the report, Trump and Xi exchanged toasts during the dinner. In an official translation, Xi Jinping said talks with Trump had added “new substance” to U.S.-China relations. Trump presented Xi with a bald eagle statue. The two presidential couples were seated with Apple's Tim Cook, Nvidia's Jensen Huang and his wife, Elon Musk, and AMD's Lisa Su.

The two-course menu featured a silky yellow squash velouté with crispy pancetta, sesame-crusted sea bass served over braised baby bok choy, and a fruit-shaped vanilla cremeux with ice cream made from White House honey.

Other guests include members of Trump's extended family, among them Melania Trump's father Viktor Knavs. Xi Jinping arrived in the U.S. on Wednesday and is scheduled to depart on Friday. It marks his first state visit to the U.S. since Barack Obama's presidency more than a decade ago.
