Today, a phone call took place between US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. According to Azerbaijani media, during the conversation, they expressed satisfaction regarding the anniversary of the Washington summit.
It was emphasized that the Washington Peace Summit, the Joint Declaration signed in the presence of US President Donald Trump, and the preliminary signing of the agreement on establishing interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have put an end to the conflict in the region and established peace.
According to an official statement released by the Azerbaijani side, it was noted that over the past year, peace and stability have been maintained in the region, and there have been no incidents that could disrupt regional peace. Positive developments were noted regarding the export of Azerbaijani oil products to Armenia, the transit of goods through Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as the establishment of trade relations between the two countries.
During the phone call, the importance of the TRIPP project in terms of regional connectivity was highlighted, and it was noted that the development of transport infrastructure in Azerbaijan is nearing completion. The parties expressed hope that work on the TRIPP project in Armenia will soon commence.
