Tim Cook has announced his departure from the position of CEO of the American company Apple, concluding a 15-year tenure. He expressed his commitment to the company's community and plans to maintain his connection in his new role as chairman of the board.
“I send all my love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. Tomorrow my position will change, but my love for the Apple community will remain unchanged.”
The official announcement regarding the leadership change, which will take effect on September 1, was made back in April. The CEO position has been taken over by John Ternus, who previously served as Apple’s senior vice president and led the hardware development division. Ternus has worked at Apple for nearly 25 years, contributing to the creation of Mac computers, and later the iPad, AirPods, and iPhone.
Cook thanked his followers, noting that they have been a constant source of inspiration for him.
In the comments, billionaire Elon Musk congratulated Cook on his “epic career” at Apple.
Cook was the seventh CEO of the company and held the position longer than any of his predecessors, from 2011 to 2026. He joined Apple in 1998 from Compaq.
