The Armenian ambassador in Albania, Tigran Mkrtchyan (based in Athens), met with the chairman of the Albanian parliament's permanent committee on foreign relations, former foreign minister Igli Hasani.
According to a statement from the embassy reported by Armenpress, the meeting discussed opportunities for developing bilateral relations between Armenia and Albania, establishing inter-parliamentary ties, and creating new formats of cooperation.
The ambassador thanked Igli Hasani for Albania's support in hosting the summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan and presented the latest developments in Armenia's foreign policy agenda, including the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the normalization of relations with Turkey, and Armenia's European direction.
Igli Hasani welcomed the initiative to activate inter-parliamentary cooperation, expressing readiness to facilitate connections between the relevant committees of the National Assembly of Armenia.
He also emphasized the importance of developing direct air communication, a liberalized visa regime, trade and economic ties, and business contacts between the two countries.
The interlocutors also discussed the possibilities of exporting Armenian products to the markets of Albania and the Western Balkans.
