The international fast-food chain Subway is considering entering the Armenian market. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, referring to the results of a meeting between Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Subway's regional director Efe Celik, along with Armenian investor Levon Ayrapetyan.
During the meeting, the possibility of Subway's entry into the Armenian market and the opening of over 60 branches in the country was discussed. The investment volume for each branch will range from $150,000 to $300,000.
Company representatives noted that the implementation of the project could contribute to the creation of new jobs, the development of international franchising culture, the involvement of local suppliers, and the introduction of international standards in the food service sector.
Subway was founded in 1965 in the USA and currently operates over 37,000 restaurants in approximately 100 countries worldwide.
