After another down week for the S&P 500, the market flags stocks for a possible bounce and others at correction risk

After the weekly pullback, several companies’ RSI readings moved into oversold or overbought territory.

U.S. stocks ended the week in negative territory again, pushing several individual names to levels where traders may start looking for short-term support. According to CNBC, the S&P 500 slipped 0.1% for the week, marking its second straight weekly loss, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.7% over the same period.

Market pressure intensified after global bond yields moved higher early in the week, with the yield on the 10-year Treasury reaching its highest level in 19 years. The sell-off deepened further after the U.S. Federal Reserve raised its benchmark rate by 25 basis points on Wednesday, though some investors looked through the shift toward tighter monetary conditions.

Oversold stocks

CNBC said several stocks have moved into oversold territory based on RSI. A stock is generally considered oversold when its relative strength index, or RSI, falls below 30, suggesting the decline may have gone too far and that a near-term bounce is possible.

Boeing appeared on the list with an RSI of 25. Its shares fell more than 5% after CEO Kelly Ortberg warned that production of the company’s 737 Max was taking longer than expected to stabilize. The stock is down around 9% year to date.

Bank of America also slipped into oversold territory, with its RSI reaching 28. Shares dropped 8% this week after Chief Executive Brian Moynihan said third-quarter investment banking fees are expected to fall by more than 10%.

Wynn Resorts was identified as the most oversold stock of the week with an RSI of 17. Its shares lost more than 5% during the week and fell to a new 52-week low just above $81. The stock has shed roughly 31% in 2026.

Las Vegas Sands, Carrier Global and TransDigm were also listed as oversold.

Overbought stocks

On the other side of the market, several energy names moved into overbought territory. A stock is considered overbought when its RSI rises above 70, a signal that it may be vulnerable to a near-term pullback.

Marathon Petroleum topped this week’s overbought list with an RSI of 87. Its shares gained more than 7% over the week and hit a record high of $428. The rally came as oil prices moved higher after Saudi Arabia shut its East-West pipeline because of a drone attack that threatened it.

Marathon Petroleum shares have surged 161% year to date, while the Iran war has broadly pushed up global energy prices. Valero Energy and Phillips 66 also made the overbought list.
