The Ministry of Environment continues a series of awareness and discussion meetings regarding legislative restrictions on plastic products, involving various stakeholders. This was reported by the Ministry of Environment of Armenia, indicating that the latest meeting was held with representatives of plastic manufacturing organizations.
During the discussion, legislative regulations concerning the restrictions on polyethylene bags and single-use plastic products, which will come into effect on January 1, 2027, were presented, along with the scope of their application and the proposed requirements.
Possibilities for using safer alternative products from an environmental impact perspective were also addressed. The meeting was conducted in a question-and-answer format and open discussion.
Ministry specialists provided clarifications on issues raised by business operators and listened to the observations and suggestions from industry representatives.
The ministry notes that such meetings aim to facilitate the effective and smooth implementation of legislative changes, increase stakeholder awareness, and foster constructive cooperation between the state and the private sector.
