The Syunik regional prosecutor’s office, acting within its mandate to protect state and community interests, reviewed documents related to the allocation of land plots in Sisian city’s May 28 Park to various individuals. The information was released by Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
The review found that a 0.03-hectare plot at 2/1 Sisakan Street had been granted to an individual under a development right in violation of legal requirements.
The prosecutor then submitted a motion to the head of the Sisian community, calling for measures to terminate the development right established under a contract signed on June 13, 2011 between the Sisian community and the developer.
Following actions taken by the municipality’s competent bodies, the registered development right over the plot was terminated at the Cadastre Committee. The plot in question is a 0.03-hectare parcel in May 28 Park with an approximately market-based cadastral value of 563 thousand drams. The land has now been returned to the possession of the Sisian community.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the May 28 Park in the Sisian community covers 9595.68 square meters. Land plots within the park had been allocated to 17 individuals under development-right agreements.
As a result of prosecutorial intervention, 10 land plots with a total area of 5234.48 square meters, previously allocated to 8 individuals, have so far been returned to the community. They include plots measuring 0.03 ha, 0.03 ha, 0.05308 ha, 0.0450 ha, 0.05 ha, 0.0451 ha, 0.08 ha, 0.02 ha, 0.0402 ha and 0.13 ha.
Work is ongoing to return another 10 land plots allocated to 9 individuals back to the community.
