Armenia’s Constitutional Court has ruled that the framework agreement related to the TRIPP project complies with the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, according to Armenia’s Public Television.
Under the court’s official decision, the obligations set out in the Framework Agreement on Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States concerning the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project are in line with the country’s Constitution.
The case was reviewed in written procedure. Judge Edgar Shatiryan served as rapporteur.
The Constitutional Court’s external relations department said the full text of the ruling will be published within three days.
The Armenian government applied to the Constitutional Court in July to determine whether the agreement was constitutional. Following the ruling, the document will be sent to the National Assembly in due course for final ratification.
What the TRIPP project includes
TRIPP, short for Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, envisages the creation of multimodal transport and infrastructure connectivity across the territory of Armenia.
Under the framework agreement between Armenia and the United States, a joint company, TRIPP Development Company, has been established to implement the project. The American side will hold 74%, while Armenia will hold 26%. The company is expected to support projects in railway and road infrastructure, oil and gas pipelines, fiber-optic lines and the power sector.
The project is to be implemented on the territory of Armenia while preserving its territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction. In July 2026, the Armenian government launched the ratification process for the TRIPP framework agreement with the United States.
