Saudi Aramco plans to increase oil supplies in the near future without passing through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters.
This decision was made after the company shipped at least 4 million barrels of crude oil to China this month. During transit through the strait, Aramco used tankers with disabled tracking systems to reduce the risk of attacks.
The company is offering Asian buyers Arab Medium and Arab Heavy crude oil via ship-to-ship (STS) transfer near Fujairah or Sohar, which are located outside the Strait of Hormuz.
Two supertankers are already transporting 4 million barrels of Saudi oil to China. According to Vortexa and Kpler, the shipments are intended for Sinopec and are expected to arrive at the ports of Ningbo and Zhanzhijian in September.
Last week, Aramco also sold at least 4 million barrels of heavy oil to PetroChina and Sinochem after resuming supplies from the Ras Tanura port.
