The Union of Banks of Armenia forecasts a 6-7% increase in bank profits for 2026, as stated by the chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA), Daniel Azatyan. In the first half of 2026, the banking system of Armenia generated a profit of 214 billion drams, which is 6.8% higher than the same period last year.
Azatyan noted that the profit for the entire year of 2025 was 421 billion drams. He emphasized that the slowdown in growth rates is due to the more noticeable growth last year being built on a smaller base. Geopolitical events have also affected the growth rates.
“If we reach a 6-7% growth in profits by the end of the year, it will be a natural growth,” Azatyan noted.
