Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin visited two of Armenia’s leading mining enterprises — the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine and the Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine — during his annual trip to Syunik province, according to the Russian Embassy in Armenia.
He was accompanied by Russia’s trade representative in Armenia Sergey Solomin, Russian Economic Development Ministry representative Anna Ivanova, and Vardan Enokyan, head of the local office of the Russian Export Center.
Management of the two companies briefed the delegation on the ongoing modernization of technological processes. According to the source, the upgrades are aimed at increasing production volumes and improving environmental performance.
The ambassador was also informed about large-scale efforts underway to develop the social sphere in Syunik province.
