Russia is awaiting a report from Armenia on sanitary inspections and a clear plan for complying with Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) requirements, Izvestia reports, citing Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia’s agricultural watchdog.
“Rosselkhoznadzor expects the Armenian side to provide the results of the investigation and information on measures taken, as well as an action algorithm proposed by the Armenian side to ensure compliance with EAEU veterinary and phytosanitary requirements,” the agency said.
Since early May, Russia has begun imposing restrictions on imports of agricultural products from Armenia.
Later, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said Armenia would be able to restore agricultural supplies to their previous volumes only if it strictly complies with EAEU veterinary and phytosanitary standards.
