Russia is demanding that Armenia present the results of sanitary inspections and a clear program for complying with the veterinary and phytosanitary requirements of the EAEU. This was reported by Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance — Rosselkhoznadzor.
This means that Armenia must document what inspections have been conducted, what violations have been found, what has been done to rectify them, and how it will ensure compliance with EAEU requirements in the future.
The press secretary of the Minister of Economy, Lilit Shaboyan, only stated that Minister Gevorg Papoyan recently met with his Russian counterpart, the Minister of Agriculture, and this issue regarding the lifting of restrictions was raised again.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture had previously stated that key conditions for restoring Armenian agricultural product supplies to previous volumes include ensuring product safety, the use of local raw materials by Armenian producers, traceability of supplies, and compliance with mandatory EAEU requirements.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that this is a good opportunity for the EAEU to work together to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the union.
