Russia has delivered 630 tons of wheat and 36 tons of propane to Armenia via Azerbaijan, reports the agency ‘AzerTaj’. According to the Azerbaijani state news agency, the train carrying wheat consists of 9 wagons, while the propane is in 1 wagon.
This is the fourth batch of goods exported from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijan this week, notes the Russian state news agency TASS. According to the same source, a total of 5.6 tons of wheat and 273 tons of barley were delivered to Armenia via this route in the previous days.
Since the end of October last year, when Azerbaijan lifted its ban on the transit of goods through its territory to Armenia, more than 49 thousand tons of grain, about 9 thousand tons of fertilizers, 1136 tons of propane, 1114 tons of coal, 133 tons of aluminum, and 67 tons of timber have been exported from Russia to Armenia via this route.
At the same time, after two European summits held in Yerevan in spring, one of which was attended by the President of Ukraine, Russia began to impose restrictions on the import of Armenian goods, which continue to expand, covering certain types of mineral waters, agricultural products, flowers, fish, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and dairy products.
According to ‘AzerTaj’, around 15 thousand tons of diesel fuel and about 5 tons of gasoline have been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia so far.
No goods have been exported from Armenia to Azerbaijan yet.
