On July 21, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered a speech at a workshop organized by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and the UN office in Armenia, focusing on strategic directions and action planning in the agricultural sector for the next three years.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister addressed the framework of Armenia-UN sustainable development cooperation for 2026-2030, as well as the strategic documents of the Armenian government, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and the World Food Programme for 2026-2030, aimed at developing collaborative, innovative, resilient, and sustainable agriculture in Armenia.
In this context, he emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation with international partners and their active involvement in promoting the sectors mentioned in the documents.
Deputy Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan highlighted Armenia's commitment to establishing a competitive, inclusive, and climate-resilient agricultural system that contributes to ensuring food security and improving the well-being of rural communities.
The Deputy Minister also referred to the upcoming 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will take place in Armenia from October 18 to 30, and the events planned around biodiversity and agriculture, which will provide an opportunity to present Armenia's experience and vision in the field of biodiversity conservation and the development of sustainable agricultural systems.
