Putin and Pashinyan to Discuss Armenia's Participation in the EAEU

The meeting will take place on September 1 in Bishkek

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will discuss Armenia's participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) during their upcoming meeting in Bishkek, taking into account the country's aspirations to join the EU.

Putin will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan, which will take place from August 31 to September 1. Ushakov announced that Putin and Pashinyan will meet on September 1.

"It is quite clear what the discussion will be about. We continue to insist that Armenia cannot aspire to EU membership while simultaneously reaping huge benefits from cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. This issue must be resolved somehow. And the president and the prime minister will undoubtedly discuss this," Ushakov told reporters.
