Every communication between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is important, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian leader, according to Ria Novosti:
Peskov noted that Putin and Pashinyan will discuss the issue of a referendum on Armenia's EU membership at the upcoming meeting in Bishkek:
“We cannot be more Armenian than the Armenians themselves. And, of course, the Armenians will decide their own fate. We suggest that they do just that — hold a referendum,” Peskov told reporters:
The Russian president stated that it is impossible to be part of both the EU and the EAEU at the same time. Moscow insists that Armenia must hold a referendum, choosing between the European and Eurasian unions:
