Prime Minister: Compromises in Education Should Be Abandoned

Nikol Pashinyan calls for reforms in education

Arminfo: It is necessary to decisively implement reforms in the education sector. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, at a government meeting on August 6. According to him, it is very important to abandon the policy of compromises regarding teachers who repeatedly fail to pass certification.

Pashinyan noted that there are teachers who try to pass it five or six times but fail each time. "Compromises in this matter are unacceptable; we must get rid of teachers who have not passed certification because the education system and our children suffer from this," said the Prime Minister, emphasizing the low performance of applicants, many of whom cannot even receive a "satisfactory" grade, let alone "excellent." Pashinyan pointed out that this issue is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.
