Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has met with Liaziza Sabirova, director of the Asian Development Bank’s resident mission in Armenia.
According to the government, the meeting focused on the implementation of ongoing joint programs with the ADB, while the two sides also exchanged views on possible new areas of cooperation.
Grigoryan highlighted the importance of developing the ADB’s cooperation with the private sector. The discussion also covered the potential unblocking of regional communications and the opportunities that could emerge for countries in the region.
The Asian Development Bank is one of Armenia’s largest creditors. As of April 2025, its share stood at 21.2%, making it the country’s second-largest lender.
The ADB has been working with Armenia since 2005 and has implemented numerous projects aimed at developing transport, financial, energy, water and other infrastructure across the country.
In its updated forecast released in April, the ADB projected Armenia’s GDP growth at 5.5% in 2026, with growth expected to accelerate to 5.7% in 2027.
