In 2023, Porsche unveiled the Mission X hypercar concept, a fully electric model intended to succeed the 918 Spyder. The German carmaker is now reassessing its development strategy to strengthen its financial position, and in that context a production version of Mission X is unlikely to reach the market.
According to Auto News, Porsche management is considering a new mid-engined supercar that would be developed on the basis of Audi Nuvolari. The future model would also use components from Lamborghini Temerario, the publication reported.

The approach is in line with Porsche’s current drive to cut costs. By using Nuvolari as a foundation, the company could save billions of euros on developing the new model. Auto News said Porsche’s supervisory board is expected to decide in the near future on the future of its flagship model.
Regardless of that decision, Porsche plans to keep developing its lineup around the 911 supercar. The company does not intend to turn the 911 into an electric vehicle. At the same time, Porsche is expected to put greater emphasis on vehicle personalization programs, which offer high profitability.
