Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, stated that the norms of the EU and the EAEU are incompatible, which could harm Armenia. He advised recalling the experience of Turkey and other countries that have long awaited EU membership.
This statement came after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the process of applying for EU membership would begin soon. Peskov noted that Armenia's legislation must be aligned with European standards, which could lead to deep contradictions.
“And it is here that we will encounter deep contradictions that will primarily harm Armenia,” Peskov said.
