The sides discussed next steps on detecting unregistered workers and strengthening international taxation processes.

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee and the International Monetary Fund plan to deepen cooperation aimed at improving tax administration. The issue was discussed at a meeting between SRC Chairman Eduard Hakobyan and representatives of IMF-backed missions that have started work in Armenia.

According to the SRC, the missions are focused on introducing international best practices to improve tax administration procedures used to identify unregistered workers, as well as assessing the tax authority’s capacity in international taxation through the FITAS tool.

During the meeting, IMF representatives presented the results of their discussions and work carried out under the missions, along with proposals to improve tax administration related to detecting unregistered workers and handling international taxation processes within Armenia’s SRC.

The committee said these proposals should help introduce international best practice at the SRC in a more effective and systematic way.

The sides also reviewed further areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening the SRC’s capacity, taking into account the outcomes of the IMF missions and the recommendations submitted. In that context, they reaffirmed their readiness to expand cooperation to improve the SRC’s administrative efficiency and support its further development.
