Yerevan: Mediamax: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today.
The government reports that "during the phone conversation, the parties exchanged thoughts on the first anniversary of the Peace Summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025, with the support of U.S. President Donald Trump."
"The parties particularly noted the important role of President Donald Trump and the U.S. government in advancing the peace process.
The parties noted the progress made in the last year in the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
During the conversation, the development of trade and economic ties between the two countries was emphasized as a tangible manifestation of the benefits of peace. In this context, the parties mentioned the export of Azerbaijani oil products to Armenia, as well as the transit of cargo through Azerbaijani territory to Armenia and from Armenia to other directions.
Additionally, the parties exchanged thoughts on the implementation of the TRIPP route in accordance with the agreements reached in Washington.
The parties emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to promote the peace process and ensure long-term peace, stability, connectivity, and economic cooperation in the region," the statement said.
