Pashinyan reviews implementation of the TRIPP project

The meeting reviewed TRIPP’s legal package and the next steps for the project.

On September 17, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a meeting to discuss issues related to the implementation of the TRIPP project, according to the government press service.

The discussion focused in particular on TRIPP’s legal and contractual package, as well as upcoming steps. Officials also reviewed the current work on the company’s draft charter and the shareholders’ agreement.

The government said discussions on the implementation of the TRIPP project will continue in this format.

TRIPP, short for Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, is a transport and infrastructure initiative aimed at creating multimodal corridors across Armenia, including Syunik Province, to connect the region with international networks.

The initiative involves the construction and development of roads and railways, oil and gas pipelines, power transmission lines, and fiber-optic communications networks.

The project is linked to the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace concept and is seen as part of the Middle Corridor. A joint venture, TRIPP Development Company, has been established to implement it, with 74% owned by the US side and 26% by Armenia.

Under the framework agreement, Armenia retains full territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction over the infrastructure, including border and customs control.
