Pashinyan speaks about energy independence

The Prime Minister of Armenia addressed cooperation with Azerbaijan

Yerevan: Mediamax: The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated today that "our strategy is 100% energy independence":

"But this does not mean that we will be excluded from international trade in electricity. Sometimes we can export, sometimes we can import. We can also have partnerships and cooperation with Azerbaijan, including exporting and importing electricity, as with all other countries — Turkey, Iran, Georgia," he said in a press briefing after the government meeting.

Regarding the visit of Azerbaijani specialists to Armenia, mentioned by Ilham Aliyev, Pashinyan noted that this is not new. According to him, on September 5, 2025, there was an official press release stating that a meeting of the delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place, and working processes occurred in the territories of both countries.

"Another meeting took place on January 15 of this year — this time regarding the railway issue. We have previously stated that we are working on topics such as power transmission lines, pipelines, cables, and railways — bilateral work is ongoing," said Nikol Pashinyan.
