The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, had a phone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Pashinyan congratulated Tokayev on the successful conduct of the elections to the Kurultai. He noted that the convincing results of the voting confirm the broad support of the citizens of Kazakhstan for the reforms carried out by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude for the congratulations and warm wishes, emphasizing the importance of developing multi-sectoral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the possibilities of cooperation in the implementation of regional transport programs.
The Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Kazakhstan agreed to continue discussions at an appropriate time, particularly during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Armenia in October.
It should be noted that according to preliminary results from the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, the "Adilet" ("Justice") party won the elections for the new unicameral parliament with 71.17% of the votes.
